[collapsible title=»How do I add offline donations (e.g., checks or cash) to my CAN page?»]
It’s easy to add offline donations to your CAN page.
1. Visit your CAN fundraising page.
2. On the right-hand side of the page, under OFFLINE DONATIONS, click «Add Offline Donations.»
3. A pop-up screen will appear where you will enter the donor’s information and the donation value.
4. Click Add Offline Donation.
5. Enter each donor’s information on your donation form so we can issue a tax receipt to that particular donor. Be sure to include the name of your CAN page on the form next to your name.
Mail the completed donation form and check(s) to:
FAST
P.O. Box 608
Downers Grove, Illinois 60515
Please note, FAST cannot accept cash donations. Please convert all cash donations to a money order or cashier’s check. If you receive several cash donations, you can convert them into one money order or check.
If you write a check to FAST, we will be required to issue a tax receipt to you directly. How does this differ from cash? This will occur because the IRS will consider the donation directly from you and not your donors; as such, you will receive a tax receipt directly from FAST. Additionally, the IRS will consider the money you deposited into your account as income to you and you will be taxed on that income.

[collapsible title=»Is it possible to make a recurring gift on a CAN page?»]

[/collapsible]
[collapsible title=»Who should I make my check out to?»]

[collapsible title=»Can I mail cash into FAST?»]
We cannot accept cash donations. Please convert all cash donations to a money order or cashier’s check. If you receive several cash donations, you can convert them into one money order or check. Remember to include each donor’s information on your donation form so we can issue a tax receipt to that particular donor. Save a step by encouraging all donors to use your CAN page.

[collapsible title=»What if a check is made out to me personally?»]
If a check is made out to you personally, endorse the check by signing the back of the check and add, “Payable to FAST.” Include the check with the donation form.

[collapsible title=»If I am in charge of an event, can I accept all the donations and write one check to FAST?»]
If you write a check to FAST, FAST will be required to issue a tax receipt to you directly. How does this differ from cash? This will occur because the IRS will consider the donation directly from you and not your donors; as such, you will receive a tax receipt directly from FAST. Additionally, the IRS will consider the money you deposited into your account as income to you and you will be taxed on that income.
[/collapsible]
[collapsible title=»What is an “in-kind” donation, and can the donor receive a tax receipt from FAST?»]
If a business donates goods and services to your event, that is considered an “in-kind” donation to your event and not to FAST; therefore, FAST would not be able to issue a tax receipt.
[/collapsible]
[collapsible title=»What can I use as proof of FAST’s tax-exempt status?»]
You may use FAST’s 501(c)(3) letter and FAST’s W9.
[/collapsible]
[collapsible title=»I live outside of the United States. Can I make a donation directly to FAST or a Cure Angelman Now page?»]
Yes, we are proud to say we can accept donations from anywhere in the world. The amount entered for the donation will be processed in U.S. dollars. For example, if you enter «100,» that means you are making a $100 gift in U.S. dollars. Your credit card company will then convert the donation to your local currency at exchange rates and fees determined by your credit card issuer or financial institution.
FAST is based in the United States. You will receive an email receipt for tax purposes. Gifts made from non-U.S. residents may not qualify for tax exemptions. Check the laws in your country.
As diverse as our Angelman community is, we are all united in one goal: a better future for our children. FAST is committed to bringing life-changing treatments to clinical trial within two years, but we need your support. Help us cross the finish line. We are so close.
